Yes you heard me!
We've been slaving away over the past week or so and been trying to get as much new media as possible ready for the next media release. If all goes to plan every single map image should be updated, along with 2 new sets of brand spanking new maps. We should have as well some images of a very special model in those map shots too, its rather spiffy and we hope you'll all enjoy it as ingame, its pretty fantastic. We've also cut down the team to core members, a lot of people had gone inactive over the past months and they have been "released" so we have some more spaces on the team. We are in need of animators primarily. We have all the weapon models done and half the initial player models done and they all need animating! We can do this by ourselves, but it will take forever with out current commitments so an extra pair of hands (or two) would be great. The commercial project we were all working on has now finished so we are free from that, it certainly was a hectic time. It was definatly an interesting insight into the world of commerical computer games, most certainly not for the weak-hearted! Well thats about it, I expect the media update to be out within a week if all goes to plan so keep checking back! |

Most likely 3DStudioMax or XSI. I could be wrong tho.

I believe all the animations are rigged for Max 8.

Thanks for the offer but to be honest, we really can't use people who are just starting out. Certainly Milkshape3D will not cut it for animating. Ideally you need to be up to speed with Max 8 (I'd prefer Max 9 but everyone else would lynch me) or XSI.

I'm afraid 3dsmax is quite beyond me, but it's good to hear that you are using some of the best 3d tools there are.
$3,495, (unless you upgraded from 7 or 8) is a lot of money... Are you planning on accepting donations/selling HaJ? H.B. |

Max, Maya and XSI are the industry standards. If your at University you can usually get a very generous discount on the software for the period of the course.
I know XSI Advanced is just shy of $7k for the full licence whereas ther Educational licence (valid for 2-3 years) is much cheaper, under $300 i think. The basic version of XSI is under $500 and theres even a free version of it, but thats got limits on it. We cannot sell HaJ unless Valve buy us, which I would say is very unlikely. Donations on the other hand are possible but we have not decided on anything like that, if we did then it would probably go towards maintaining a team server for the released mod. |
