Ok you guys, I was wondering, who here has Virgin Media, they used to be called NTL: Telewest. Cos I might be getting the 3 for £30 deal which shall be good, i'm gonna get rid of Tesco Broadband lol.

So there is no one on this forum thats got Virgin Media?

Well i'm getting VM on august 9th, getting XL tv package, 20mb broadband and L telephone line whatever that means. So I get over 125 channels plus 6 free sports channels. :)

Not sure, but on a nice day in the morning, I get 113kB/s DL speed.
But I haven't got it faster than that.

You must be really out in the sticks Hugo, I live in a small country town and can get 8mb, 500Kbps+ download with BT as well.

Yeah, I live out in a little village in Norfolk, no more than 1500 people total, mostly OAP's and farmers and I suspect less than 250 PC's in the village so I guess that helps with getting 500Kb/s down and 25Kb/s up.

We use BT as its the most reliable and fairly priced, we've never hit the limits of like 40Gb a month and we've been a customer for so long they gave us a free Home Hub worth like £80.

In Ireland if you work for eircom, they give you a free router and broadband. Which is nice.

Apparently Aberdeenshire has the highest Broadband take-up out of all G.B.
Maybe that'd account for it.
I certainly hope they'll upgrade the lines soon.

on Virgin Media TV you don't get Sky One.

Also I'm on Virgin's broadband service right now, my download speeds at the moment never exceed 60kb/s.

Yeh I've been reading problems like that, for some people the service is suppose to be really good while for others they say its crappy. I hope its good in my area, live in Surrey.

I'm on my 20mb broadband service and its really fast, just so happy. :D
