Some of you may have noticed some Spamming getting through recently. We've updated the forum to the latest version and the latest NoSpam plugin but I get the feeling they are still going to get through as nothing major has changed in the plugin to prevent it.

Nevertheless I've changed some of the questions in the register proceedure.

I've looked on vBulletin's site and it seems to be getting common this plugin is not catching them all anymore and the general consensus it is actually real people signing up and spamming. Theres not much we can do about that but a quick ban and delete.

I noticed that yesterday evening. Good work.
I'll continue to visit regularly and report spam if I see any.
They still haven't finished updating the Bit-Tech forums, which is annoying.

Well thats good. There will always be spammers, just need some moderators around and there will be even less spam.

Actually, because of the low-volume of genuine registrations we've got I've switched over to moderating all new registrants. Both GL and I get a mail when someone registers and we have to approve it before they can post.

Spammers are dead easy to spot so when they come we just ban them and block their IP's, etc.

It's a problem with vBB, since it's a highly popular commercial board, there are bot makers going nuts every time there's an update or a plugin, because they can get spam on some major boards out there. That's why I switched to www.simplemachines.org :D

First of all Ive done a quick search with no luck, It just seems theres not too many rips of recent shows and such around here. The last files i got was from the roxy 2 months ago.

Surely someone has ripped some new stuff ? No ?

I hadn't realised that buddhists had taken to spamming so I was delighted to recieve my PM.
