Um... What's the big deal? It's only another RTS game isn't it?
Come to that, it's set in outer space... Is it something really worth getting excited about?

I think I get it: it's one of those old titles which appeals to people's sense of nostalgia.
The only other example I can think of right now is Team Fortress 2, but that's only because I read the Wikipedia article on it.
I am 16, and the first game I played was Age Of Empires, then Cossacks(a far superior game) both of which happen to be RTS games.
Whilst I played them I couldn't imagine what people found so attractive about FPS's considering all the violence, blood, and gore.
However, when I started playing other games, notably Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, True Combat: Elite, and HL2, I forgot how good the RTS's were, and couldn't imagine.....etc.

Starcraft is probably one of my favorite games of all time. I still play it and have played it for the past 8 years.
