One of the things that bothers me about HL2 and it's respective mods (that I've played) is that alot of the maps appear bland. There isn't much foliage. I haven't yet seen a map that is chocka block with coniferous trees, bushes and dense grass. I'm therefore going to conclude that this hasn't been done because it kills performance big time?
I'm no modder (and I haven't tried all HL2 mods) so forgive my ignorance.

Yes, your write. To a certain degree all the trees and bushes murder the engine. However, with Episode 2 changes to the engine have supposedly fixed this meaning you can have much larger open area's with more stuff in them.

Sounds promising indeed.
I did notice some lush foliage in the sneak peak for Episode 2.

This is something that's slightly bothered me about Source too, and as I understand it the Source engine is much better for smaller enclosed areas.

It's always been bad, then again so was Goldsrc and Source (in its original incarnation) wasn't that removed from it.

Old topic I know but in relation to the foliage you're using in the mod, who made it all? It looks nice and lush and well I'd love to use it on my map in my mod :p
