so how many maps are you going to offically release for this mod or what are you aiming for. i wish i could help but i would need to know how to create proper big maps. At the moment i am creating my first room for counter strike source which is alright.

Would you be likely to make some maps that are dark dreary and muddy? Maybe some rain? sleet? I personally love playing in games like that it really adds to the immersion factor to me.

i'm trying to learn how to do alot of stuff in the source SDK, its kinda hard to be honest but it takes time to learn, i would also like to make a zombie map for counter strike, i thinking about making a map set in a high street with many different stores, like a bank, MC Donalds, clothles store, games store etc etc, it would make it look very cool for a zombie gametype.

Well, Pegasus is dark. Those who are afraid of the dark may not want to play it.

As for "proper big" the map stretches from the glider landing points (and then some) to Pegasus bridge, the cafe Gondree and then all the way up the road to Benouville.

No way! Snow maybe, but rain and sleet? Ithought they were bad on graphics cards, anyway. Or were there to make the viewing distance less so that the map had higher FPS.

our maps are pretty large and detailed so itll probably not be that many but the gameplay will shift a lot so you won't get bored as easily.

Thats good to hear, hopefully they will be tested to hell before you release it to the public. Are you also planning on montly updates with fixes, new maps, new weapons etc.

upon release we plan on updating the game fairly frequently. Mainly a throwback to hl1 modding, lots of updates, minor changes, constant progression. For some reason nowadays mod teams make a close to commercial product and then just release patches. We'll be releasing our core base for the mod, and then build on it with time.

We have milestones planned multiple iterations after initial release.

I like the sound of that.

If this mod gets popular than maybe Valve might contact you.......

Highly unlikely I'd say.

Well, we do have frequent chats with the guys at Valve but its more on the technical side of stuff. As for them "buying" the mod I doubt they would, would be a conflict of interest between HaJ and DoD:S.

Nah they could buy it but then package it with Day of Defeat Source or whatever the next version will be. This way they could make even more money. A little off topic but hows the netcode in the mod doing ?
