Avatars and signatures

Would someone please tell me how to add an avatar to my profile and a picture to my sig ? ive never really dedicated myself to a game or forum, and have never had the need for either. Ham and Jam looks promising, especially since ours diggers are makin an appearance :P

Only Dev Team are allowed avatars. For signature images, goto your profile page uptop, make an image less than 450*150 pixels and under 50kb, upload it to imageshack and place the link to the image in your signature box.
