BA Hons Multimedia Design & Digital Animation.

This easter I'm making a short 3D animation and it must be under 15mb in size at 320*256, Sorensen 3 Video Codec and in Quicktime. That equates to about 40s to tell a whole story.

Heavily WIP, but its the first 14 seconds. The cut needs to be closer to the ball, but its the general idea. What will happen next?

Oh yeah, this is four days of work, on and off!

What the hell software did you use to make that? If it took you 4 days then either their teaching you wrong or making you do it the hardway.

An ancient version of Cinema4D, like version 6. The newest version is 10 or something and has a load of animation stuff.

I say four days...I get distracted with HaJ stuff in between...a lot.

I wish we could just start using XSI now and use all the physics stuff...

Now that was supportive! :D

Look interesting though. I wonder what the ball is up to!? :o Are we going to see a sequal to this?

Ugh IKs *shudders*

Gotta rig up a model later this week after I've got my C++ crap outta the way (Giving myself 2 days to make a 3D engine was a bad idea), hate doing it so it'll be a Sunday night job I think lol

Heres a sneak peak WIP of my current anim, "Every Little Bit Helps". The ending isnt done yet but you can probably guess part of whats gonna happen next.

Some real dodgy bits in, one bit where the ball slides all over the place and other stuff. Quickly smashed together in FCP.

Not bad so far, I like. The light bulb looked out of place, but aside from that it's pretty good.

I did a mock up a while ago with sound, it makes it so much better the whole animation.

Especially with a "ding" for the lightbulb.

Aye, it's scary how a little sound can really make your animations better.

Unfortunately you get a fail if you use any 3rd party editing software to do our animations :? Still add sound effects later tho for our show reels.

Thats a bit silly. But I guess our course is more about making animation and shows rather than games, so post processing is a vital part of it.

Ska Wars

Aye I guess, still think it's an idiotic rule tho. For some reason they always want it submitted in weird sizes too (1040 x 700 wtf?) or in some weird codec which no one has used since 1998.

Ginger Lord

Weird...

All our video hand ins have to be 320*240 .mov and under a certain size limit. Renders and 2D assignments have to be 640*480.

Maybe they're wanting HD resolutionn but I think thats still off what you said.
