Not well know, but vital to secure the port of Antwerp. This nasty little battle was quite costly for the Canadian Army.

Later on the battle for the South Beveland causeway was equally testing for the Canadians.

These battles would be GREAT maps in my opinion.

Haha, everybody is just trying to ignore you!

Personally, I don't really know that much of battles where solely Commonwealth forces were fighting.

The battles you suggested might be interesting tho! Would there exist any web sites with background information about the battles?

:P

Do you have any more info on that, for example was it a city battle, which side was attacking, any special twists that could translate well into gameplay?

Two pronged Canadian attacks on an slightly elevated town and elevated railway (in Holland railways are sometimes build ontop of dikes, to keep them dry in case of flooding). The attack on the railway had to be undertaken through inundated "polder" in clear sight of the German artillery on the hill.

It was part of the wider battle for Scheldt estuary to open up the port of Antwerp. The historical timing is crucial, after the defeat at Market/Garden en just before the Ardennes offensive (which had the objective to retake Antwerp)

Woensdrecht is just one of the interesting battles in this whole campaign.

Thought so:

The battle sounds like an interesting idea for a map, however the first release of Ham And Jam will not contain Canadian Forces. It shall be looked at.

There where also alot of little 'island pocket's' that had to be cleared out before the allied forces could start bringing supplies into the port, maybe someone could make a map based loosely on 'cleansing' a 'pocket of resistance' off the island's at the river mouth.

British forces took a pounding clearing these areas out and it stopped them bringing much needed fuel and food into the port aswell :(

yah... we have tons of ideas for maps but unfortunately in modern games with all these new ideas like 3d rendering and textured surfaces art takes quite some time to make, and from the scope of what we are doing, the locations featured in our releases will most probably be directly related to the art created thus far.

I wish I had the time (and skill) to make the map ...

Making a map isn't as hard as it seems, yes it takes alot of time to make a really decent one. But all you need is 20-30 mins a day and to read some tuts along the way.
So basically get into it bro, it's only hard if you let it be hard.
