From recent posts, I gather the development is in the final stretch, and all that's left is skinning weapons. Good job guys :)

It seems the gameplay elements are all in place, so for those of us who have download quotas (damn australia) and want to know what we're getting ourselves into before downloading, could someone verify if I've got these facts straight?

Source Engine: EP1 (same as counterstrike source)

Crosshair/Ironsights :- Ironsights only for riflemen, crosshair for others, no crosshair for grenades

Weapons:-
Recoil: DoD style
COF: Centerweighed and smaller than DoD
Damage: Damage falloff according to distance
Movement Penalty: None
Stance based accuracy: Yes - Standing, crouched, proned, but movement has no effect

Player Speed :- Slower than DoD:S - different forward/side/back speeds?

ETA :- Once the weapon skins are done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 month??????

BTW, your FAQ doesn't work anymore

Engine: Ep1, will be ported to Ep2 by first or second patch (currently in development).

Ironsights - rifle and SMGs, MGs have to be deployed in order to aim down the sights, all weapons have crosshairs from the hip. Crosshairs on grenades.
Recoil - DOD style
COF - center weighted
Damage - damage fallout depending on distance, penetrated bullets lose damage depending on the distance travelled through the wall
Stance based accuracy - yes
Player Speed - about the same pace as DOD:S iirc

And the FAQ does work.

All weapons have an ironsight mode, MGs/LMGs only when deployed. All weapons have cross hair at other times.

Wouldn't call it DoD style recoil as we have our own variations but it's based on the same code as DoD which was given to us by Valve.

CoF is centre weighted and the cones are tighter, we believe. We don't have the numbers for DoD and our CoF angles are calculated a different way. We don't just say "make the angle x" we decide on the size of the target circle at a set distance for the weapon and it calculates the CoF angle based on that.

Yeah damage falls of over a maximum distance set for each weapon but they are not based on real world distances because our maps are too small. It's adjusted for the sake of game play. And when we say damage fall off, we don't mean the bullets drop i.e. parabolic ballistics.

Define movement penalty. Your speed doesn't alter based on the direction you move (game play choice) but proning while giving you a better aim/cover has a movement penalty in that you can't turn 360 on the spot. You have to think in HaJ. Many aspects have a pro/con and you have to make smart decisions.

Stance based accuracy yet. Sprinting cant shoot and I believe we have a slight loss of accuracy when moving.

Player speed is slower than DoD and the same for all directions.

ETA: Not going to commit to answering that. We have a few bugs left to squash and some visual tarting up to do but currently the biggest hold-ups are getting all the character models done and skinning the weapon models. We also have to replace some sounds and other bits and bobs. That said if the Gods smile we could get a "rough cut" public beta out before Xmas but that's not a promise.

Whoa that was quick! Sounds good! :)

But to clear things up, movement penalty is when you lose accuracy when on the move.

This reminds me, is there increased recoil when on the move?

Also, ironsights gives u extra accuracy? Does ironsight mode slow you down?

And when I click on the FAQ button from the forums, I get the search function. I'm using FireFox 3.5

Keep up the great work!

That's the forum FAQ, go to the main site for the mod FAQ.

Ironsights does tighten up the accuracy on the rifles (it has little effect on the SMGs), and it slows you do by a 1/2
